From the time I was a little girl, I have loved cats. Every day was a cat adventure in our house. I always had at least one growing up and have done my best to make sure there’s always been one in my life since then. I’ve spoiled them with the best nutritious cat food and have always I loved their independence and unique personalities that they only show to those that love them the most.
For the last three years, I have had two of the best cats I’ve ever had. In the Spring of 2013, we came across a litter of kitten that had been separated from their mother. They were only a couple of weeks old and couldn’t survive without her. We gathered them up and researched how to take care of them. We bottle fed them, groomed them and took care of them each day. They all did very well except the littlest one, who we named Peanut. She was much smaller than her litter mates and wouldn’t eat much. We continued to work with her and finally got her to start growing. She soon began to thrive and we knew that we knew that we had to keep her. She was a survivor and just knew what a great cat she would be. We decided to keep one of her little mates too who we named Katie. She had the very same coloring as Peanut but was one of the biggest and long-haired.
Three years later, Katie & Peanut are such great cats. They are sisters, but complete opposites. Katie is little chunky, lazy and affectionate. Peanut is skinny, skittish and enjoys our company only when she wants it. It’s important to me to keep them healthy and only feed them good quality foods. I was excited to take the Purina Pro Plan’s MyPlan quiz to see what cat food they would recommend for my cats (take the quiz yourself HERE & get a $5 off coupon too!). I was asked questions like what are their ages, body condition, appetites, hairball concerns, sensitivities and more. At the end of the quiz, it was suggested that I try PURINA PRO PLAN TRUE NATURE – ADULT – 45% PROTEIN FORMULA NATURAL TURKEY & RICE RECIPE PLUS ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS for both cats. I love that the quiz gave specific reasons for this recommendation based on the answers to my quiz.
I was thrilled to find out that they love their new Purina Pro Plan True Nature food. Whether they’re lounging around the house or outside exploring, I know their food is helping them be the healthiest they can be. I adore them both and I love the day to day routines that they’ve given themselves. From eating, to sleeping, to grooming, to going outside, to coming inside, they have a daily routine that rarely fluctuates. In preparation of National “Take Your Cat on an Adventure” Day on June 15th, I decided to follow them both around one day and see exactly what great cat adventures they go on each day.
Katie spends almost her entire day sitting in one of our kids’ computer chairs. It’s covered in fur, but we just cover it with a blanket when we need to use it because it’s truly “her spot” and easier to do that trying to keep her off! She’s made the back of the chair her personal scratching post too!
Peanut loves the garden! I find her in there often, just enjoying the sun. Today I caught her hanging out with her brother, Barkley, the Golden Retriever. As we left, she found some shade under a kale plant!
Every single morning, Katie joins me in the bathroom as I’m getting cleaned up for the day. She sits on the counter and waits for me to turn on a drip from the faucet so she can get a drink. It’s the funniest thing! It is fun having a furry friend hang out with me each morning!
Peanut loves to lounge on my bed. She sleeps there throughout the day and spends many nights on there too. She’s very particular on when she wants affection. It has to be in her time and doesn’t want to be bothered if she’s not in the mood. Today, she was in rare form and actually held my hand to try to get me to scratch her head!
The girls love their brother, Barkley. They love to chase each other up and down the halls and even wrestle sometimes!
