Did you know you can make homemade detergents and cleaners that actually work? They even work better than store-bought types in my opinion!
I recently experimented with making Dishwasher Detergent Tabs and I am so excited with how great they turned out and how well they work! With a simple combination of baking soda, washing soda, salt, water and essential oils, I made amazingly wonderful smelling tabs that cleaned better than I’ve even seen my dishwasher clean!
You gotta try these!

Mix your dry ingredients together in a glass bowl (a plastic bowl might scratch from the salt). Add in your essential oil drops. Immediately add in the water and be ready to stir quickly! It absorbs the liquid quickly and tries to clump on on you. When hard clumps form, try your best to break them up. I actually used my Pampered Chef Mix N Chop utensil and it worked great! Once you have a wet sand consistency, use a melon baller or cooker scooper to scoop 1-inch balls of the mixture. Gently place them on a wax paper covered cookie sheet. Once all of the balls have been placed on the cookie sheet, put it somewhere to dry for 24 hrs.
Once the balls are completely dried out, place them in a glass jar or plastic bag. When you get ready to run your dishwasher, place one in the detergent lot (you may need to crumble it up slightly to make it fit). Run your dishwasher like normal and be amazing and how clean your dishes come out!
Let me know how these turn out for you! I’d love to hear if you have any other dishwasher detergent recipes or homemade cleaner recipes in the comments below!
