Have you ever tried to make your own salad dressing? It’s a new venture I’ve jumped into in the past year and I will never go back to store-bought dressings. If you read the label of most salad dressings found in stores, you’ll notice a bunch of fake ingredients that you can’t even pronounce. These days, I choose to put only real ingredients into my body and that means store-bought salad dressings are OUT!
I’ve tried lots of salad dressings made at home and have learned that I actually prefer them to store-bought versions. They are lighter and more flavorful because they’re made with wholesome ingredients. And best of all, I know exactly what is in them.
Of the many homemade salad dressings that I’ve made, this Italian Balsamic Vinaigrette is by far my favorite. It’s made with healthy olive oil, balsamic vinegar and Italian seasonings. It’s light, simple and delicious on any salad. I hope you like it as much as me!
Homemade Italian Balsamic Vinaigrette Recipe
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2/3 cup olive oil
- 1 large minced garlic clove
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard
- Pinch of Salt
- Pepper to taste
Mix all the ingredients together in a bottle. I love keeping my dressing on the kitchen counter with a Salad Dressing Bottle for easy access, or something even prettier like this glass cruet with stopper.
